A true French classic - the Languedoc has long been associated with Malbec (where it was originally known as Côt and traditionally an important component in blends). The label plays on the idea of one of the synonyms for Malbec - Oeil de Perdrix (Partidge's eye). We thought to call to Perdrix Solitaire (Solitary Partridge) to represent the fact that this is 100% Malbec; a wine to appreciate for its difference.

Old vines grown in the warm Mediterranean sunshine of the Languedoc, tempered by the altitude and the cooler nights thanks to elevation and proximity to the Pyrenees; ideal conditions for longer, slower ripening which results in a finer profile than Malbec grown in warmer climates.

La Perdrix Solitaire Malbec has vibrant garnet with notes of mulberry and underlying redcurrant and blackcurrant aromas. Complex, with fine raspberry and red-fruit flavours backed by a touch of chocolate truffle richness. A mid-weight harmonious wine, an expression of purity and youthful fruitiness.

Delicious with steak and meats from the grill. It works with seared tuna, too.
