Quinta da Badula is a wonderful artisan vineyard in heart of Tejo, run by a close family with a shared passion for wine. When you meet them, their enthusiasm is infectious and you believe every word they tell you when they say their sole ambition is the quest for complete excellence.
Situated in Arrouquelas, Rio Maior, the vineyard is located on soft slopes of excellent sun exposure, benefiting from excellent climatic, geological and water conditions. The soils are poor, which adversely is actually favourable to the production of wines of the highest quality. On the vineyard they have planted both red and white varieties including red Touriga Nacional, Castelão, Alicante Bouschet and Syrah. The whites include Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Arinto and Mostatel-graúdo.
The wines are a reflection of a great respect and admiration for nature, working with the land and climate, not against it. But what we notice about all the Badula range is the passion and dedication with which they are created is definitely apparent in the bottle. These are exceptional and unique wines unlike anything else we've tried from the region.
The first wines from Quinta Da Badula were only released in 2012 and since then their quality has been recognised through a list of medals Mo Farrah would be proud of! They've picked up medals at important international contests, such as IWSC, Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Challenge International du Vin, Vinalies Internationales and La selezione del Sindaco.
