The 350ha Monte Schiavo estate in Marche is a testament to the Pieralisi family whose background was in olive oil manufacturing equipment, but 20 years ago began to invest in agriculture, also purchasing vineyards from the co-operative within Maiolati Spontini. They own a portfolio of prime vineyard within the Castelli di Jesi zone, and the Monte Schiavo winery is situated amongst some of their most prized plots, notably the Colle del Sole vineyard. The appointment of talented young winemaker Simone Schiaffino, and collaboration with renowned Italian winemaking consultant Carlo Ferrini since the 2015 vintage, has added a new depth and complexity to their portfolio. Monte Schiavo are in the process of converting to organic production.

Monte Schiavo Alberto Serenelli Rosso Conero wine is a robust and complex style of Montepulciano produced in collaboration with celebrated local winemaker Alberto Serenelli! An intense, ripe and inviting nose of plum, dried fruit, black cherry and spice. The wine is powerful with ripe blackberry characters balanced by earthy notes - savoury and spicy with rich well-structured tannins, smooth and lasting on the finish. A full red with freshness, drinkability and the ability to age. Fancy a steak? Keep it rare and enjoy with this lovely drop!
