Henners is proud to release ‘Native Grace’, our multi-vintage prestige cuvée. The label design* is inspired by Thomas Bewick (1753 – 1828), the Northumbrian artist acclaimed for his incredibly detailed, captivating wood-engravings of English life and nature. Bewick’s innate skill with this intricate medium proved transformative to the art of wood-engraving and the illustration of natural history. He was also known for his wicked, yet always sympathetic, humour - capturing drunks, louts and fools in the landscape of the day. Most of his pieces were engraved to be printed directly into books and are rarely larger than the palm of your hand, indeed he would sketch the idea on his thumbnail before committing to wood. *Label image: Tail-piece in ‘A History of British Birds’, is said to be of Bewick himself as a thirsty traveller drinking from his hat.

For our Native Grace we always look for parcels of wines which shine out from special vintages and we blend across multiple vintages using a small proportion of reserve wines to bring additional depth and complexity to the wine Extended lees ageing with over 4.5 years on lees leads to a richer, rounder style of wine produced in limited quantities Only 2000 bottles were made.

Henners Native Grace has orange blossom, apple, spice and sweet pastry aromas accompanied by candied citrus and brioche notes on the palate. Gently persistent fizz with great depth of flavour, balanced acidity and a mouth-wateringly long length.

Great with caviar, freshly shucked oysters and smoked salmon.. or simply enjoy the delicate nature of this wine on its own.
