This 12 year old is the entry level bottling from the Caol Ila distillery, launched in June of 2002 this expression is light and fresh with that distinctive Caol Ila smoke.

The nose is subtle, sweet with a hint of lemongrass sharpness, light phenols and smoke cured meats,. Peaty but no smoke at this stage.
On the palate, sweet, refined smoke with a saline hint. Complex and powerful with a balancing oiliness.
To finish, the sweet smokiness comes to the fore again. Crisp and delicious with a medium length. Slight pepper and spice notes. This dram is really tasty and leaves you wanting more.
