Alois Lageder is an ultra-sustainable biodynamic estate established in 1823 and is a true pioneer of biodynamic principals in Italy.  Located in the German-speaking village of Magreid, the Alois Lageder family winery is home to some of the best wines from Trentino-Alto Adige in northern Italy.

These wonderful wines are made with a truly holistic approach, plenty of creativity and an experimental spirit by the family’s fifth and sixth generations, Alois and Alois Clemens Lageder.  Committed to biodynamic agriculture, their goal is to create an environment that breaks up the traditional ‘monoculture’ vineyard and instead have a thriving ecosystem. The cattle, donkeys and sheep that graze between the vines and olive trees are the only weed and pest control they need.

This Gewürztraminer is a product of several sites with sandy soils in the Bassa Atesina of Alto Adige. Although the sites in Termeno, Magrè and Lake Caldaro are very hot, the individual components are strengthened with the help of a staggered grape harvest. That gives the Gewürztraminer freshness, minerality, depth and finesse. When possible, a portion of the grapes is harvested with noble rot.

A wine with complex aromas and flavours of peaches, rose water and pink pepper. It has a rich, honeyed mouthfeel and a dry refreshing finish.
