Babich Black Label, Sauvignon Blanc is a really interesting Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand as to our knowledge, it's the only one that has been deliberately developed to complement food. We've had it with a Butter Chicken Curry and we have to say, it was a fabulous accompaniment so we totally get where they are coming from when they say that.  Due to the great weather of this particular vintage, the bouquet is an inviting mix of gooseberry and tropical, passionfruit aromas. Palate entry is luscious and lively, bursting with passionfruit. The finish is wonderful, with good length and displaying that minerality that has put Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the map. So why is this particular wine developed for food? Well unusually for Sauvignon Blanc they have fermented a small amount of it in oak and then spent a huge amount of time testing different blends with different dishes! We asked the winemakers what dishes they would recommend it and they said it's brilliant with oysters, but generally any chicken dish or even veal are great for pairing with this wine. By the way, this vintage is starting to scoop up the awards! Get it now while you can.
