BLANKbottle Familiemoord 2015

So this is another interesting wine from the mercurial talent Pieter H Walser and his BLANKbottle range with quite the story behind it! Beautiful perfumed, gentle fruit, and purity. It's a stunning blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Pinot Noir. The Pinot perfume really shines, with black cherry; the Cinsault gives it brightness and joy and the Grenache some warmth and gentleness. The profile is light and silky like a Pinot Noir, but with some extra depth and complexity. Soft and smokey and highly recommended. And that story we promised.... well the photo on the bottle is taken from the original article when Pieter was falsely accused of murdering his son (who incidentally isn't dead... just to be clear). A Saturday job digging a sandpit for his three children was misinterpreted, when three young boys cycled past and spotted Pieter joking around and chucking soil on to his young son, who at that moment, was lying in the hole that Pieter had dug up the sand from. Rushing home to tell their parents that a boy was being buried by a guy with long blonde hair resulted in a street full of police, crime scene ribbons and a very embarassing situation for Pieter himself! Well at least we got another great story and another great wine out of it!
