Celestino Pecci in Montalcino takes its name from its proprietor, who was born near the property. Although his parents wanted him to study for an office job in the city, he preferred working the land. In 1968 the young Celestino Pecci acquired nearly 100 acres with two old farmhouses and devoted himself to growing grapes and making wine. And here at Kwoff we can only say thank goodness for that!

Celestino Pecci Brunello di Montalcino wine is truly magnificent. We were so excited to get this in the shop and it’s going down a storm. Along with Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino is Tuscany's most famous DOCG and its boldest expression of the Sangiovese grape. Rich ruby red in colour with an attractive garnet hue; spicy, intense and persistent in the nose, perfectly integrated with the large barrels used for ageing. An altogether very harmonious wine, tasty and well-structured on the palate. This beautiful wine will pair with everything reminiscent of Sienese cuisine from pici (pasta) with meat sauce to roast game, big steaks and very mature cheeses.
