Rupestris evokes the strength of the rock, the purity of the earth, something primitive, rustic, wild, ancient and authentic... well that's what their website said anyway. We're not really sure about that. We just really liked it when we tried it. It's a really interesting blend of Xarel-lo, Malvasia de Sitges, Macabeo and Xarel-lo red that delivers a wine of stunning quality, finesse and balance. The colour is clean, bright, pale yellow colour with some steely tinges. On the nose there are up front notes of white flowers, citrus and white fruit whereas in the background, a perfume of orange blossom, aromatic herbs and deep mineral undertones begs you to start drinking! The taste doesn't disappoint. It's fresh and dry, with a straightforward, no-nonsense quality and a very good acidity. Citrus, freshly-cut grass, jasmine and sour apples with a crisp, medium finish. This is the perfect wine for any leaf based salad! If you've traditionally been a Sauvignon Blanc drinker and want to branch out. This is the wine to go for.
