Regional Reserve Yarra Valley Pinot Noir
This product is currently sold out.
New to De Bortoli's range in 2016, Regional Reserve brings the best regional wines from premium vineyards across Victoria. The result is wines of character and expression, a true reflection of the variety and the region.
This wine is from a selection of vineyards in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. Most vineyards are easterly facing, so as to not get too exposed the the warmer afternoon sun. All vineyards are VSP trellised. Soils are predominantly clay loam based, although a small number of vineyards are on volcanic basalt soils, which are rich and fertile.
Fruit for this blend is grown mainly in Dixons Creek, Tarrawarra and Coldstream. The grapes are both hand and machine harvested with a percentage of the hand harvested used for whole bunch inclusion. A combination of winemaking techniques are used to produce a final blend with complexity and balance. These include cold maceration prior to fermentation, inclusion of whole bunches and warm fermentation at 30˚C to 32˚C. Minimal handling and filtration is adopted to preserve fruit flavour.
Fragrant and complex. Red fruits, violets, autumnal, spice. Textural, elegant, gentle tannins. Flavours of cherry, red fruits and background spice. Soft and supple.
This wine will match well with roast chicken, garlic roasted potatoes.
