Alain’s family have been making wine in the village of Puligny Montrachet for more than 200 years. He farms 6.5 hectares of vines and has developed an enviable reputation for producing sought after premium white Burgundy wine.
The use of chemicals is kept to an absolute minimum, and usually extends only to the prevention of mildew on the grapes. All harvesting is done by hand and following the press, around a quarter of the wine is barrel fermented, which gives the finished wine greater depth and intensity of flavours.
This wine is bursting with ripe tropical fruit characteristics, balanced by a concentrated limey acidity and lick of spicy oak.
