Domaine Damien Pinon has been producing wine for three generations from the family's 29 hectare site in Vernou-sur-Brenne. Their production is focused around still and sparkling Chenin Blanc wines.
The argilo-calcaires soils contribute to the production of rich, balanced and fruity wines. The average age of the vines they cultivate is 30 years old however they constantly introduce new vines every year. The blend of parcels of fruit from new vines and old vines give an added complexity to their wines.
This particular wine is made from the fruit from their oldest wines and is fermented in barrels (80% used, 20% new oak). The wine is left to ferment with minimum intervention until it is bottled. This is one of the richest and most complex expressions of Chenin Blanc from this producer, its fermentation can last up to 12 months.
It has a golden yellow colour, a slightly honeyed nose and creamy, round mouthfeel. Fruit aromas are dominant on the finish.
Perfect as an aperitif or with richer foods. Suggested serving temperature : 10°c. It can be decanted to open up the flavours.
