Gaintza Txakoli is a favourite of Mario, our Sommelier. Having spent a number of years working in some of the top restaurants in Spain, Mario knows a thing or two about some of the local "tipples". Txakoli is definitely one of those he knows very well. The wine is named after the area where it is made, which is in the Basque Region in Norther Spain. According to Mario, this is one of the best Txakoli's he's found outside of Spain so was keen for us to bring this to the shop. Gaintza's Txakoli has a light spritz and displays aromas of green apples and lemons. On the palate it is light and has refreshing high acidity, characteristic of traditional-stlye Txakoli. The finish is clean and delicate. It's an absolutely incredible match for seafood paella.
