The Small Batch collection are wines crafted from small parcels of fruit that capture the attention the winemakers. These parcels are individually tended to in the winery to ensure they truly represent the vineyard.
This wine is made from small premium parcels of fruit from Awatere Valley. Awatere Valley is a premium sub-region in Marlborough. Slightly cooler, drier & windier than Wairau Valley. Fruit from the Awatere Valley delivers more texture & has more ageability with tropical aromatics such as grilled pineapple & dry herbs.
Sustainably grown & certified.
The winemakers use a mix of inoculated and wild inoculated yeasts. 90% of the blend is fermented in tank, this gives lovely fruit characteristics. 5-10% of the wine is aged in a mix of French & German oak barrels, sizes 300L – 1,000L. This gives weight, texture & ageability to the Sauvignon Blanc.
Aged on lees for 3 to 4 months to give lovely mouth-feel.
