For the past 25 years Hoxton has been the creative centre of London. A heady mixture of artists, writers and rock stars mixing seamlessly with super models, fashion designers and entrepreneurs cross pollinating ideas and changing the way everyone else does things. And that's been the world that has spawned probably the most distinctive gin in the world, Hoxton Gin. But quality has been the key so they've only used a medley of natural and ethically sourced ingredients including coconut, grapefruit, juniper, iris, tarragon and Ginger. This is actually the newer recipe. The coconut is definitely dialled down in this iteration and it's absolutely the better for it. We passed on it the first time we were offered to stock it as it was borderline Malibu! Now though it's really well balanced and the grapefruit takes more of a starring role. You can still taste the coconut, but it's pleasant now. And it makes a splendid G&T! Use lime and a slither of ginger to garnish. It's ace!
Style: Errr.... it's definitely gin. Not sure how we'd categorise it though!
