This Rias Baixas pioneer was founded in 1985 and has made its name over the past two decades for producing classically-styled, great quality, Albariño. There are five sub-regions in Rias Baixas. Bodegas La Val are based in Condado do Tea - away from the coast and just over the Portuguese border. In 2003 they built a brand new winery in Arantei, over-looking the Miño river, and equipped with the most modern winemaking technology.

La Val Finca Arantei Albariño wine has lifted, floral aromas of citrus and peach. Minerality on the palate is balanced by stone fruit, lime and white spice - giving a long, elegant and crisp finish. A great wine with sushi or can match lightly spicy dishes such as beef and sesame noodles and Thai green curry.

Please note: All case wine orders can take between 7-10 days for delivery.

Reviews:

Finca Arantei Albariño 2020: 17 pts.” Tamlyn Currin, JancisRobinson.com (19th November ’21)

“Luscious peach aromas, so rich it smells caramel licked. Smoke and stone and peach and pith, the flavours reverberating through the wine, taut as violin strings, salt-bitter-sweet-sharp cutting chromatic crystals into the peach, into the stone, through the smoke. Tingling lime-pinched acidity, sending electric currents of energy from start to finish. Vivid and complex.

Finca Arantei Albariño 2020: 92pts. James Suckling, www.JamesSuckling.com (1st June ’22)

“An intense expression of albarino with a hint of anise looming over the nectarines, limes, green apples and stony minerals. Very textured and almost full-bodied, with a taut, pure palate. Drink now.”
