After setting the record for the most orders ever taken on the night at one of our “Meet the Maker” wine tasting masterclasses, we are delighted to announce that McPherson Wines’ Head Winemaker, Jo Nash, is back on these shores and is making a beeline for our little town again to meet our fantastic customers!
Jo is the creative genius behind “Don’t Tell Gary”, our best selling Aussie Shiraz. Those of you who were lucky enough to meet her the last time she graced our shop will know how brilliant and talented she is. It’s why we realised we needed a bigger gaff. So we’ve borrowed one for the night…
For the first time in Kwoff history we’re taking our Meet the Maker WInetasting Masterclass on the road and heading precisely 75m towards the Peel Statue to combine forces with our good buddies at Bloom Coffee shop. It means we can cater for 45 customers instead of the usual 30 and that we can finally run one of these events on a none school night! Also, from 6.30pm on Friday 15th September until 8.30pm we are unofficially calling it Bloom Kwoffee shop. We’ll do our best not to put on fake New York accents for the evening.... but we’re making no promises.
Since Jo last treated us to her tasting masterclass in 2016, like a mad professor she’s been hard at work and has developed a range of new, hip, and tremendous quality wines that we think are on a par with Don’t Tell Gary. The numbers don’t lie and her new Laneway range is already a firm customer favourite based on sales since we brought it in back in June. And have you tried her “Princess Butterfly” wines yet? Holy moly! They… Are… A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!
Jo has promised to take us through all her new wines and tell you the stories that inspired their creation, as well as letting you in on a few of her wine making secrets.
As mentioned, this time we’ll be at Bloom Coffee which is just around the corner from our shop on the roundabout where Bolton Street, The Rock and Market Street converge. If you haven’t been to Bloom yet, then what’s wrong with you?! It’s brilliant and exactly the type of place our fab town needs, which means we all need to support independent businesses like this. Treat yourself to a coffee and cake next time you’re passing. You can pop into Kwoff after and thank us for the recommendation. Honestly, it’s very cool, Daniel who runs it is super ace and they definitely make one of the best latte’s we’ve ever had.
As usual this event is a sit down affair and you will be served seven different wines on the evening along with some light nibbles (yes the famous Kwoff cheese board is making an appearance).
And I know we always say this, but please only purchase tickets if you know you can make it as tickets are non-refundable. Think of them like gig tickets. If you can’t make it to a Stone Roses concert at the last minute, Ian Brown isn’t going to give you a refund either is he?!
We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you on the evening.
