Covitoro is Toro's foremost co-operative (founded in 1974) and second largest producer, with over 1,000 hectares, and the oldest vines in the region. The Toro region is best known for premium reds. While the abundance of high quality fruit from old, gnarled, unirrigated bush-trained vines is perfectly suited to this purpose, modest grape prices also make Toro a great source of distinctive, well-made wines at more accessible prices - something at which Covitoro excels.

The Cien Tinta de Toro Roble is an eye-catching, serious and well-priced red from Toro in Spain. This straight forward wine features a nose of ripe plums and blackberries, with a twist of smoke, liquorice and spice. The well-structured palate has abundant damson and black fruit flavours; ripe and long. All that fruit and spice mean it is great with barbequed meats and steak! It's also one of our best-selling Spanish wines in the shop with a lot of repeat customers.
