Life long friends Harry Hunt and Nacho Suarez came together to create wine from a region in Spain not previously known for its wine but for its movie making. It was thought that Andalucia was too hot for wine growing. However, due to the 1000m altitude from the slopes of the Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Gador, it cools the grapes at night to produce elegant yet fun wines.
Grapes are hand-picked early in the morning. Macabeo and Viognier co-fermented in stainless steel tank, and Jaén Blanco and Vijiriega co-fermented separately in tank, before blending. Malolactic fermentation was blocked.
It has an elegantly aromatic nose offering apricot, banana and lime, with hints of honeysuckle and elderflower. The palate shows smooth and subtle flavours of apricot with grapefruit and lychee, and the finish is crisp showing notes of melon and green apple, with a hint of fennel and ginger.
