Vallet Freres Beaune Premier Cru 'Les Epenottes'
This product is currently sold out.
We first discovered 'Les Epenottes' at a family celebration in one of our favourite restaurants, The White Hart, in Lydgate, Saddleworth. We're all fans of a good Burgundy at Kwoff, and this Pinot is spectacular. We knew when we finally got our selves in gear and opened the shop we had to source this wine and bring it to you. And here it is! Vallet Frères, Beaune Premier Cru 'Les Epenottes' is fruity and expressive but it's got that Burgundian elegance that you just don't see in Pinot's from other countries. It's a true classic. This brilliant Pinot Noir has aromas of red berries, spices and a hint of vanilla. The taste is just as fruity with refreshing sour cherries, delicious red berries, crisp acidity and supple tannins. When we had this wine at The White Hart, they matched it with a roast loin of venison and a juniper dressing and it was phenomenal. But if they've run out of 'loin of venison' at your local Sainsbury's, you could easily match Les Epenottes with a good aged hard cheese, or maybe even Beef Bourguignon.
