It's skinny, structured stuff with breadth, texture and a chamingly rustic gait. Oh my goodness, what a glorious nose! Because the Syrah is fermented on its stems, the acidity and tannins are really bright and fine, and so wholly natural they hurt. You can just hang your nose in a bucket of this all day! This is so good. All the really bright stuff follows through on to the palate where there's a kind of textural, crushed raspberry hairiness that̥ is beguiling, bewitching and beautiful. This is such good wine from Donovan Rall. You know what to have with this!... it's a proper Shiraz that deserves a wonderfully juicy, premium and rare steak!
