Verdant Fresh Hop West Coast IPA -When given the opportunity to purchase some fresh US hop cryo pellets of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe and Krush hops Verdant jumped at the chance! To have one that evokes warmer climes and times, bringing back memories of their hop selection trip, got them really, really excited. These pellets were processed in Yakima Chiefs Cryo plant as per normal; however the main point of difference is that the hop cones utilised were wet/fresh and hadn’t been kilned. Essentially, the bines were harvested and the cones picked, then they were frozen with liquid nitrogen and turned into cryo pellets. On opening the bags, they smelled just like rubbing fresh hops in the field: pungent and GREEN!
