What is Mead? Mead is an alcoholic drink of fermented honey and water! However, not all meads are created in the same manner. Known as the drink of the Gods and in modern memory, associated with the Vikings, mead is now also produced using base alcohol, white wine or sugar syrup, with honey added at a later stage.

Aegir (Old Norse for “sea”) is a sea giant, God of the ocean and King of the sea creatures in Norse mythology. He is also known for hosting elaborate parties for the gods. Aegir and his NINE daughters brewed (the best) ale in a large pot.

Aegir Dragonsbreath Mead is a ‘Tannined Melomel’ (fruited honey mead). This is the most traditional ‘basic’ mead recipe and this amazing flavour is achieved simply by adding tea and orange juice to the fermentation process to give the tannined, full bodied flavour a slightly softer and fruitier taste making it a firm favourite with drinkers across the board.
