Brusafer Pinot Nero, Trentino Superiore (6 Bottle Case)
This product is currently sold out.
This exceptional Pinot Nero is produced in tiny quantities from Cavit's very best vineyards. A very fine example of the grape by any standards.
The Pinot Noir grapes are selected from hillside vineyards around Povo, in the Vallagarina Valley, and on the slopes of Mount Baldo. The south-west and south-east facing slopes have a mixture of glacial limestone or volcanic soils, and the area experiences great differences between day and night temperatures. The vines are Guyot-trained, and grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September. After destemming and pressing the must is vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The must is fermented in contact with the skins for 10 days, and after alcoholic fermentation the wine is matured for 20 months in 225 litre French oak barriques. The wine spends around 10 months in bottle before release.
Brusafer Pinot Nero, Trentino Superiore gives lifted aromas of ripe cherry, red berry and lightly spiced notes. The palate has raspberry and blackberry fruit, with herbal notes and fine tannins. Fresh acidity on the long finish.
Drink with red meats or poultry. Also a good match for pasta and risotto dishes.

Brusafer Pinot Nero 2018: “A lovely food wine, with sweet wild strawberry and red cherry fruitiness, a sprinkling of herbs, refreshing acidity, and spice from 20 months in French oak. Translucent in the glass, and modest in alcohol, this is nevertheless no wallflower. Pinot Noir that brings to mind mountain breezes.” 90pts. Decanter (May ’22)
Cavit Brusafer Pinot Nero: “Something autumnal and earthy, but also something fiery, plays on the nose of this transparent, evolving Pinot Nero. There are hints of bitter walnut skin and red, tart berry, too, making this aromatic and alluring. The palate shows similar signs of evolution: this is still bright and fresh but the tannins are already resolved and earthier notes begin to stir. The body is concentrated but beautifully translucent, exquisite acidity pervades everything and showcases the red-fruited but complex charm of Pinot Noir. There is slight heat on the finish but you do want to take another sip.” 93 pts, Anne Krebiehl MW, Falstaff (8th August 2021)
