Rocco Pasetti's superbly sited 30 hectare estate lies in the heart of the Collecorvino district in the hills northwest of Pescara, recognised as one of the best vineyard zones in Abruzzo. The cellar was completed in 2004 - carved into the hillside. The Contesa wines are impeccably made expressions of Abruzzo's local grapes - modern and easy to drink, yet wines of real substance.

Caparrone Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a fresh, characterful and ripe style of rosé from Abruzzo, with vibrant cherry fruit. Fresh and bright aromas of red berry and cherry fruit. These juicy, ripe bitter cherry flavours follow through to a mouth-watering yet dry finish - with vibrant fruit off-set by crisp acidity. A great match to red or white meats - a versatile rosé to match barbeques or roast lamb.

Please note: All case wine orders can take between 7-10 days for delivery.

Reviews:

Caparrone Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo 2021: “With a name like Cerasuolo, meaning cherry, it comes as no surprise that this wine is a bright cherry-pink colour and that cherries are a typical fruit profile of the wine. Aromas of fresh red cherries and the bittersweeet notes of almond kernels lead onto rich, ripe sour cherry fruit, almost intense and jammy, with restrained fine mineral structure, a hint of chalky texture, delicate tannins on the finish and lifted by a vibrant, fresh leafy acidity. Beautiful and unapologetically intense, ripe fruit with mouthwatering freshness. Drink 2022-2027.” 91pts. Elizabeth Gabay MW, Decanter (July ’22)
