Quinta da Calcada is in the heart of the Vinho Verde region in Amarante. Family owned by the da Mota family and dating back to 1917, the winery is one of the oldest producers of Vinho Verde, with a focus on high quality white and sparkling wines.
Portal da Calcada Loureiro Alvarinho wine was produced with selected grapes that were de-stemmed and slightly pressed. The extracted juice was decanted by gravity. It was then fermented in stainless steel vats with temperature control during approximately 15 days. Before bottling the wine is filtered and stabilized. It is a yellow citric colour and expresses the character of the Vinho Verde region with subtle floral notes and fruity aroma. It has a vivid acidity that results in a very fresh, attractive and gastronomic wine. Perfect alone as an aperitif or with light and fresh starters. Great pairing with fish and seafood dishes, as well as white meats and pasta
