Cù Bòcan is a mythical hellhound who has stalked the residents of the village of Tomatin for centuries.
From the Tomatin distillery, this is the first age-statement single malt to join its lightly peated Cù Bòcan collection, which launched in 2013. Matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks for 15 years, it’s brimming with layers of stewed smoked fruit and toasted spice. Limited to just 3,000 bottles worldwide.
Nose: Burnt sugar and citrus oils with elegant smoke and forest fruits followed by woody spice.
Palate: Berries and cherries, orange zest and roasted walnuts balance rich charred oak and leather. Delicate peat rests comfortably beside aromatic cooking spices.
Finish: Crunchie bars, dried currants and poached pear bring things to a close with light smoke and spice lingering.
