Currently farming around 45ha but steadily reducing this by around 10ha over the coming three years in order that they can progress from their current organic certification through to a full biodynamic regime.
Menard Gaborit grow (Melon de Bourgogne) grapes, check they are lovely, squash them, and the juice turns into wine. Obviously, that’s a bit facetious, and there’s more going on, but honestly, that’s how this wine tastes … simple, pure, delicate, attractive … expanding on details of production isn’t really the vibe here … imagine in a perfect, warm but sea-breezed world a wine just happens … this is what it would be! Oh ok, if you have to have something … 3 months on lees in underground, glass lined, concrete tanks.
Menard Gaborit Organic Muscadet 1ere Escale wine is dry, fresh, incisive, and crisp, just a touch of barely ripe pear mingled with a salty /mineral /pebbly character … It tastes like that elegant Alessi Lemon squeezer thing looks. Perfect as an aperitif or paired with seafood such as shellfish and mussels.
