20 years ago the Rheinhessen was where £3.99 Liebfraumilch came from! Today, there’s rock-star winemakers like Florian Fauth producing terroir focused, thunder charged wines from the same land.
Residual is a fairly skinny 3g/l and of course ’21 was a relatively high acid year but the balance is simply perfect… this was made from very good fruit.
Not easy to make inexpensive Riesling of quality but Weingut Seehof Riesling Trocken Qualitätswein has plenty of ripeness and just about perfect balance between a nice friendly feel and a proper bit of seriousness. Baked seabass with lemongrass and ginger is a perfect pairing for this wine.
