Bodegas Murviedro was founded in Valencia in 1927, as the Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss Schenk Group, and has grown to become one of the most important wineries in the region They have access to a wide range of both indigenous and international varieties and produce a broad portfolio of wine styles. The company's philosophy is based on combining the modern winemaking techniques with grapes from traditional vineyards - to meet the highest international quality standards, while maintaining their Spanish character and originality.
The Bobal grapes are sourced from the Casa Lo Alto estate. After hand-harvesting some whole bunches (around a third of the total) are macerated with lightly crushed grapes. After fermentation the wine is racked to 5,000 litre French oak foudres where they spend 6 months before bottling, without clarifying and with only a light filtration.
Casa Lo Alto Organic Bobal wine has intense red fruit aromas with notes of blueberry. Rich cherry and strawberry fruit on the palate with fine-grained tannins giving balance. Juicy and full-flavoured.
