Château de Rhodes is in the village of Boissel, close to Gaillac in South West France. The vineyards of the south-west are some of France’s most ancient and home to its most varied collection of indigenous grape varieties plus a host of talented, sometimes extreme, organic winemakers enthralled by the possibilities these unusual varieties present.
Chevalier de Rhodes, Gaillac Rouge [Organic] wine is a nicely balanced red. Braucol or Fer servadou, Syrah and Duras in equal proportions, no oak, soft but wild fruit with a touch of herbiness on the nose and a grippy but approachable palate, nicely balanced and very digestible. Serve with grilled meats, duck breast or cheeses.
