Valréas in Vaucluse is famous for truffles, lavender and historic treasures which trace back to the Papal Enclave created when Pope John XX11 bought up the neighbouring towns of Richerenes and Visan, to ensure a supply of the wine he believed had restored him back to health.
Domaine La Decelle, Valréas Côtes du Rhône Villages wine has notes of dark black bramble fruit with a warming touch of spice and hint of charcoal. Lovely concentrated flavours of bramble and herbs. Beautifully balanced; the tannins give a nice grip and the typical freshness you’d expect of Valréas continues to the finish. Lovely with just pink lamb chops with a herb crust.
