Established as a grocery business in 1895 in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, founders James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail originally curated all manner of groceries from around the world such as teas, coffees, wines and whisky. Their appreciation of the rich tapestry of flavours they encountered led them to seek out and complement this varied stock with equally fine produce in the form of Speyside’s many and varied single malt Scotch whiskies.
MacPhail’s 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Gordon & MacPhail, distilled at an undisclosed distillery and matured exclusively in sherry oak for 12 years. Bottled at 40% ABV, this smooth and satisfying whisky offers rich layers of stewed fruit, vanilla, orchard fruits and chocolate, showcasing the classic sherried Speyside style with depth and elegance.
