According to legend, on a warm day in the late 1800s, a metal shimmer caught the eye of distiller Aurelio López Rosales in a Jalisco agave field. Aurelio hurried to the object, thinking it was gold, but discovered it was a horseshoe, which he interpreted as a sign of good fortune to come.

Today, this horseshoe is the symbol of the most finely made tequilas in the world. Adorning every bottle of Herradura, the lucky horseshoe represents good fortune and extraordinary flavours.

Herradura Plata Tequila is a premium silver tequila from Casa Herradura, aged for 45 days in oak barrels to achieve exceptional smoothness, far beyond the standard for silver expressions. Its light straw colour hints at the subtle oak influence, while the flavour delivers a distinctively sweet taste of cooked agave, with notes of vanilla and wood. Crafted from 100% hand-harvested blue weber agave grown in the volcanic lowlands of Amatitán, Jalisco, it offers a spicy, herbaceous complexity. Naturally fermented using airborne yeast from the hacienda’s fruit trees, this award-winning tequila, with 31 accolades including 9 golds, is perfect for sipping, cocktails or gifting.
