Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte. Their aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties.
Il Vello Pecorino wine is a zippy, vibrant and really very drinkable Pecorino from Abruzzo’s hillside vineyards, within spitting distance from the beautiful Adriatic coast which give the wine its typical lean, savoury character and mineral edge. Il Vello is a nod to ‘Pecora’ meaning sheep, from which the Pecorino grape gets its name.
The grapes come from a longstanding partner in Abruzzo from where we also source the Conviviale Montepulciano. The hilly vineyards are on clay, sand and gravel soil. Stainless steel fermentation, followed by a short period on fine lees.
Fresh and vibrant, with aromas of citrus and white peach. The palate is crisp and mineral-driven, showing bright acidity and a clean, refreshing finish Enjoy with fresh seabass, a generous helping of samphire and lashings of Italian olive oil and lemon juice.
