The vines are cultivated in the limestone soils of the Vigna del Lago vineyard - limestone brings out freshness and richness in the Chardonnay grapes, which are typically harvested by hand at the start of September. They undergo maceration at 8° C, followed by fermentation -predominantly in steel, but partly in oak. A small portion of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon (around 10%) is added to the blend to give complexity and vibrancy. The wine ages for a few months in bottle before release.
In Avane Chardonnay has vibrant aromas of citrus and white flowers, with lightly grassy notes. The palate is rounded with stone fruit and lemon flavours. A good match for appetizers and sushi.
