Mencia is the undisputed star of Bierzo with its gentle tannins, bright acidity and lighter style making it the perfect wine to welcome in the quieter, more contemplative days of mid-winter. Madai is the creation of the Amigo brothers, who returned to their native Bierzo to rejuvenate their grandparents' vineyards. The result is this black cherry scented, supple wine produced from old vine fruit.
Madai Origen Mencia wine has vibrant aromas of cherry and red berry with a hint of violet. The palate is complex with crunchy berry fruit, a hint of liquorice, smooth tannins and floral characters - all balanced by fresh acidity and with a velvety finish. Perfect with chicken or light red meat dishes - cooked in wine or with tomato sauces. Delicious served lightly chilled too!
