The D.O.C. Lujan de Cuyo (controlled Designation of Origin) guarantees a Malbec of superior quality, elaborated and supervised under strict rules regulated by a Council of spe;cialists from Luján de Cuyo. Nieto's Malbec D.O.C. was produced in this area within quality standards and is, therefore, a wine of most exceptional personality.
All grapes are hand harvested from one of the single vineyards within the Controlled Appellation (DOC) in Lujan de Cuyo. This Argentinian vineyard boasts 45+ year old vines planted at 950masl. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Nieto Patrimonial DOC Malbec is an intense Malbec that is deep red in colour. The nose has hints of violet with concentrated notes of red fruits, plum and figs that blend with the vanilla and tobacco aromas resulting from its ageing in French oak. The finish is long and smooth with sweet and soft tannins.
Good with grilled red meat, pasta in rich tomato sauce or semi-cured cheese.
