Appealing, berry-fruited Loire Crémant.
Formed in 1973, Pierre Chainier is both a négociant and the owner of some 250 hectares of vines along the Loire and Cher rivers, in the heart of Touraine, from which it sources classic Loire varieties. For three generations, the Pierre Chainier house has focused on establishing partnerships with all those in the wine trade, from producers, to consumers, ensuring that the best-quality wines are enjoyed at the best prices.
Selected grapes sourced from Anjou are hand harvested and gently pressed following a short maceration. The juice is allowed to settle before the clear juice is racked into temperature controlled tanks for fermentation at 15 degrees. Once ready, the still wine is filtered again and bottled for the secondary fermentation. Finally the wine is aged for 12 months on the lees before disgorging and the dosage of seven grams per litre is added.
Pierre Chainier Brut Rose, AOP Cremant de Loire wine has lovely ripe strawberry flavours with a hint of peach. This wine has a gentle, appealing finish and fine mousse. A lovely aperitif or with seafood and fruity desserts: perfect with strawberries and meringue!
