Lemon yellow in colour with a greenish tinge, Salvador Quinta da Calçada Alvarinho is grown in the oldest certified vineyard in the Vinho Verde, Minho region. The vineyard, which is in Amarante and which features a 300 year old manor house, is renowned for traditional methods of winemaking which have changed little in a 100 years. This Alvarinho from their Terroir range is acrobatically balanced with an intense aroma of tropical fruits, with subtle herbaceous notes. The flavour is lemon, grapefruit with apple, pear and a slight salinity in the background. The mountfeel is mid-weight with a long and persistent finish.
A perfect wine to pair with pan-fried white fish such as haddock or semi-hard cheeses like Manchego.
