Bodegas Granbazan was established in the heart of the Val do Salnés, Rías Baixas, in 1981. The winery and Bordeaux-style manor house is at the centre of the 13.5 hectare Finca Tremoedo vineyard.
The Godello vines are over 45 years old. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and undergo short maceration (approximately 4 hours) with skins. Then follows a careful and slow pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel.
Quinta do Sil Godello Valdeorras wine is a richly textured and intense white with citrus and stone fruit aromas, fennel and white pepper notes. Bright balancing acidity and with a tight structure. Should mature well in bottle. The vibrant acidity and pronounced intensity of flavour make this a versatile wine but it's great with baked brill with nutty butter and caper sauce.
A serious and 'grown-up' wine showing Godello and Valdeorras as a great source of high quality white wine.
