Conceived in a vineyard, born in a barn. Vineyard Gin is the distillation of fine wine and English spirit fused with a clutch of hand-picked botanicals. Double distilled in 200 litre copper alembics we harmonise the skill of three specialist artisans in the spirit of collaboration.
If Rude Mechanicals was going to bother making a gin, then they had to do it properly – from scratch and using wine from their vineyards. Traditionally Rude Mechanicals is a collective of worldwide winemakers who collaborate to produce some of the most interesting wines on the planet. So you know this gin will follow that same formula!
And so it goes... they've fused their wine and worked with renowned biochemist, Dr John Walters to produce a scratch spirit that forms the unique base for this gin. The intensity of the flavours and aromas in Vineyard Gin come from the second distillation, where the hand-selected botanicals are distilled into the gin rather than using more conventional compounding methods. Only the hearts of both distillations are used in order to achieve Vineyard Gin’s ludicrously smooth finish.
The result is great. Rude Mechanicals Vineyard Gin has a botanical compôte of juniper, mandarin flesh, cardamom, peel of clementine, lemon zest & wine. This is a gin that tastes like a gin… just a really good one.
For the perfect serve, slice a few black grapes, add a basil leaf and combine it with tonnes of ice and a tonic and you are in business!
