As both a négociant and a producer of its own wines, Maison Ginestet has long been convinced of the need to work the land in a viable manner and it places substantial emphasis on partnerships with sustainable agriculture-accredited winegrowing estates. Some growers are fully organic, and Ginestet is certified to bottle wines made from organically grown grapes.
From one of the best Châteaux in the Côtes de Castillon owned by Bordeaux royalty Stephan von Neipperg, Seigneurs d’Aiguilhe, AOP Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux wine is fermented in steel vats for 28 days with pumping over. Followed by ageing in oak barrels for six months followed by a further nine months in stainless steel.
Plush and very approachable wine with sweet cigar box and ripe autumn berries on the nose with more intense bramble fruit on the palate and a smooth, long finish.
