The Listening Station Malbec

A great label like this needs a great wine to go in the bottle and thankfully the chaps at Boutinot have nailed it with The Listening Station Malbec. They carefully sourced the grapes from the older Malbec vineyards in the cool Geographe region, close to the Southern Ocean in Australia, selected the best fruit from a low yield (which always makes the best wine) and matured it in French Oak. The result is a beautiful Australian Malbec that displays intense ripe blackcurrant aromas with aromatic spices of clove and vanilla. Those spices follow through on the taste with clove and vanilla joined by a touch of black pepper that complements the blackcurrant and black berry fruit flavours. And as all good Malbec should be, The Listening Station is backed by fine, well structured tannins. The ripe fruit is sumptuous and lingers on the palate.
