The family-owned winery of Villa Raiano was established in 1996, in the village of Raiano, Campania. In 2009 a new winery was built - on top of a hill amongst vineyards and chestnut woods, overlooking the River Sabato near San Michele di Serino in the Southern Apennines.
Villa Raiano Aglianico wine is a classic expression of the local Aglianico grape from Irpinia. This is a dense, powerful young red, fresh and spicy on the nose with black fruits and smoky, tarry notes. Fresh wild plum and bitter cherry fruit is balanced by taut acidity and firm but ripe tannins. A robust, assertive style packed with fruit, green peppercorn and notes. An impeccably made wine combining depth and structure with vibrant, spicy fruit. Enjoy with pasta and mushroom dishes, or ravioli with fresh ricotta. Alternatively - great with a juicy steak!
